@waluigisgirl I suggest that you should make some noise before walking towards her cage. Its a normal instinct for them to be afraid and run away.

I just bought a guinie pig the other day and what I found out us that she was a mother and she was never used to being held. At night I would sometimes here her and when I turn on the light she gets scared right away any tips on that?

@EasyTricker Do your reserch and start telling them about it, and how responsible you are and you will be with your guinea pig. They should soon come around.

breebree218 says:

ok, your guinea pig is testing its limits, its just a baby, let it get used to u. and tap it on its nose and say NO when she nips u.

breebree218 says:

me too, i get scared when she twiches and i try to pick her up.

breebree218 says:

@killweb2 mine nibbles because shes a baby, and out of curiousity.

breebree218 says:

well, mine i just got her, and her name is nut meg, and she is afraid to be picked up until i do, so i would try to hurry and pick her up, and hold her against ur body.

reecieboii says:

killweb2 says:

my guinea pig doesn’t like being touched on the underside but she lets me pick her up and sit with her and talk to her and stroke her and… well there is a ton of things she will let me do she has never ever squeled or screamed

killweb2 says:

lol you got that wrong lady mine nibble’s my thumb in curiosity

DuckyForPresident says:

@shainyy37
Sound very familiar! My guinea pig became calmer and stopped biting when she got older, though she sometimes still nips at me. I think it could be a combination of guinea pig-puberty and her personality. Some piggies simply don’t like being touched in certain places and are naturally more skittish, so my advise: try to avoid those places she dislikes being touched and give her more time to adjust. I’m sure she’ll warm up to you. ^^

shainyy37 says:

ok so my guinea pig is not like this…. she bites and if you touch her in the wrong spot she like nips at you…. is there something i did wrong or something i can do?? shes only 4 months old. And she still seems kinda sketchy of me. Help pleaseee

thanks

savethegreenforpower says:

Leave your pig and l;et it get used to its surroundings for 30min-1hour then gently talk to it and pet it but dont pick it up!!! Some think u leave it for like a week but thats like if u adopt a child leaving it in a corner for a week with no interation!

SexiLexi1023 says:

I’ve watched more than a few of these videos with her and that guinea pig and that piggy doesn’t seem to like her! lol =]

gphl1000 says:

just talk to it first then start stroking it and eventully it will let you pick it up
