This new gate was purchased to replace an existing gate (that I thought was exactly the same). The new gate is 1 foot narrower than the older one, but exactly the same otherwise. The older gate was wearing out and had been chewed a little bit by our dog when we first got her. The metal rivets are pulling out of the wooden slats on the gate because of wear, and the old gate is kind of wobbly and loose. Because the new gate is 1 foot narrower it won’t reach across the place we want to use it. I guess we will have to rearrange the room so we can use the new narrower gate.

The wood of which the gate is made is very nice. However, it is very stiff and difficult to open. The spring mechanism that attaches the gate hook to the wall mounted eyehook is poorly designed and VERY difficult to work.

Excellent product to confine dog at night without using a rope. Only down side is that the latch is hard to operate in the dark. Remedy was to remove and replace latch.

The gate and stabilizer are good and as described. the lock is very cumbersome and the mechanism that it locks onto is just a round metal loop sticking out of the wall. Not ideal. It’s really hard for my 8 year old to open and close.

The gate is exactly as described. It’s made well and sturdy, perfect for keeping my boxer confined to an uncarpeted area while we’re gone for the day. I was notified by email details concerning delivery, and arrival was right on time. I’d recommend this gate and amazon.com.
